I love showing my support in Brant County and I am happy to introduce: Brantford Business Showcase!
COVID-19 is a disease that has devastated the business world as we all know it.
But small businesses take the brunt of the devastation as large companies are allowed to do business, although in a limited capacity.
Where small businesses are reporting a decrease in revenue depending on the size of the large businesses are reporting an increase of revenue in the last 18 months.
For a lot of reasons, small businesses took a loss on all sides including taking loans that increase more debts, the inability to provide sick leave to employees which meant the loss of good workers, quick adaptation to technology have impacted the bottom line which may take a long recovery time.
With all this in mind, our conversation transformed into what we can do to help our local business in Brantford.
Brantford Business Showcase: Supporting Small Businesses
We hoped that whatever we did, it would, perhaps, help businesses recover faster or even reduce the loss of revenue as we slowly recover from the pandemic.
GOOD FRIEND’S SANDWICH COMPANY
One day on my lunch break, I stopped in front of the address of the restaurant and realized that the restaurant was in a house, I looked around and saw the sign to the right of me and then the menu board. It is taco day!
Excitedly, I briskly walked to the door. With taco in my mind, I smiled and pushed the door open. As I opened the door the welcoming chimes came alive and I skipped a little (between you and me) and behind the counter was Janie.
Although busy, Janie looked up and with a smiling tone behind the now-familiar mask, she welcomed me.
Janie is one of those people that is full of life and has a big personality. As I stood there thinking perhaps I should order something for two and two different meals.
One to surprise Brad on his lunchtime, which then gives me a sampling of two meals in one day, from “Our Good Friends.” As we say in our house.
Janie stood there with a smile and rattled off all the specials for the day and even gave me a suggestion of chicken drake as the second sandwich.
I immediately jumped at the suggestion and purchased chicken drake and taco, which was a fantastic idea!
Since then I do not go a week without getting something from Good Friends Sandwich Company. I have also met Carmen who is just as helpful as Janie.
